The Food and Safety Team is responsible for ensuring that over 2,000 food businesses in the Bay handle food safely and hygienically and provide a safe environment for employees and visitors. They conduct inspections, investigate complaints and support businesses to comply with food and health and safety legislation.

We offer advice visits, which are suitable for all businesses whether pre-start, start-up or an established business. Qualified Environmental Health Officers provide on-site tailored guidance followed by a short follow-up report and an indication of the likely food hygiene rating.
