The Redcliffe Hotel

The historic Redcliffe Hotel sits in an enviable position between the beaches of Preston & Paignton with stunning views across Torbay. The hotel is steeped in history having been under the ownership of Paris Singer from 1877 to 1902. The Redcliffe Hotel was converted into a hotel in 1904 and touted as ‘The Finest Health Resort in Devon’.

With oak paneling, its opulent, eastern furnishings, and panoramic views across Torbay, Redcliffe Hotel offered luxurious accommodation & dining for Paignton’s growing number of visitors. The hotel was the first choice for many a famous visitor, one of these visitors being Dick Francis who was the queen mother’s jockey & established author who fell in love with the hotel in 1951 and vowed to stay yearly, a tradition followed by his family who stay at the hotel every year to this day.
Today The Redcliffe Hotel sits within 3 acres of gardens and is at the heart of the local community offering quality characteristic meeting & event spaces, full-service restaurant with panoramic sea views, Bar with outside terrace and 63 En-Suite bedrooms. Redcliffe Hotel is the only hotel in Torbay with direct access to the beach, being reached via a subterranean tunnel accessed from the hotel Bar area.
